Full Job Description

There is no on call but the fellow will be expected to carry out 2 regular day time work every 6th weekend. The job involves independent operating lists. Towards the later part of job, the Fellow will be expected to undertake independent list consisting of joint replacement (e.g. TKR, UKR, PFJR); soft tissue operations (e.g. Arthroscopy and ACL reconstruction); fracture fixation (e.g. IM nailing, Ankle fixation, tibial plateau fixation). The fellow will be responsible for the day to day administration of the team clinical inpatient load. This will involve pre-operative planning and post-operative care in conjunction with the consultant. The fellow may be expected to perform some of the weekend sessions with the knee team but will not participate in the general on call rota. He will also be expect to provide some on call cover during normal office hours to support the department but not at the expense of the clinical exposure from the fellowship.
