Full Job Description

  • Support the financial accounting functions of the Trust by producing and maintaining accurate and timely financial information in respect of income and expenditure transactions, patients' monies, control account reconciliations and statutory returns.

  • Contribute to the achievement of the finance departments objectives.

  • Be committed to the Trust Values and overall Trust Strategy.


  • The department has adapted a hybrid working approach, and the post holder will need to attend the office 2 days per week.

  • Be AAT Level 4 (or studying towards) or equivalent qualification or equivalent experience

  • Hold a working knowledge of finance computer systems and ledgers, coding structures, payroll and procedures.

  • Possess excellent IT skills, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word and a working knowledge of an accounting software package and payroll system.

  • Have analytical skills to enable production of financial information to advise and inform both Finance and Non-Finance Managers. Must be able to provide such information to the highest standards in terms of accuracy and timeliness.

  • Be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines, be well-organised and able to manage their own workload without supervision.

  • Have knowledge of, and work within, the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders, Budget Control Policy and other procedures and regulations.
