Full Job Description
As a Senior Finance Lead in the Strategic Capital team, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the East of England finance directorate. The position will be an integral member to the strategic capital team and will need to build relationships with our systems/organisations, national colleagues, strategic estates advisors and our strategy and innovation directorate. You will be a CCAB qualified accountant, preferably with NHS commissioning and provider finance experience plus relevant experience at a senior management level. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and analytical skills and have experience of dealing with difficult situations and the ability to handle conflict in a positive and professional manner. The role will involve providing professional financial advice and guidance regarding all aspect of capital requirements. The role holder will need to review/challenge business cases and strengthen narratives and assessments using the HMT 5 case model and CIA evaluation model. The position will need to advise on relevant governance requirements and timings to ensure business cases are approved in a timely manner to ensure rapid progression. This role is particularly critical due to the East region requirements associated with the New Hospital Programme, RAAC issues and priority national schemes,
- Working knowledge of the HMT 5 case model and CIA model to assess strategic business Cases, outline business cases and full business cases against
- Ability to robustly challenge and influence report writers to ensure business cases are robust and approvable
- Navigation and advice regarding governance routes and timings to facilitate rapid progression of capital project
- Ability to build strong relationships to with key stakeholders across the East region and national colleagues, NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.
