Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN), John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford, OX3 9DU.
NDCN's Senior Finance Managers are jointly responsible for leading the departmental finance team. The finance team plays a key role in the smooth running of the department and is pivotal in ensuring the Department adheres to University financial regulations. With substantial high level financial management and administration experience, the Senior Finance Managers ensure that the department has robust financial processes and controls, accurate financial data and timely financial information.
Reporting to the Head of Administration and Finance (HAF), the Senior Finance Managers play an important role in the strategic and operational financial management of the department, and are responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of the department's finances, including the annual budgeting and reforecasting process, monthly financial reporting and analysis and timely provision of accurate management information to senior management, budget holders and stakeholders.
They are responsible for the effective management and motivation of the finance team, including recruitment, performance management, distribution of tasks and continuous improvement. This requires high levels of leadership, management, organisational and interpersonal skills to support the development of the team while ensuring that workloads are managed and prioritised so that targets and deadlines are met and a high-quality service is provided.
The post holders will have excellent analytical skills and strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and develop constructive professional relationships.
