Are you a fully qualified finance professional ready to make an impact? Join Southwark Council as our Senior Finance Manager and lead on the financial management of one of our most critical services, the Housing Revenue Account (HRA). We're now on the lookout for an experienced Senior Finance Partner who is passionate about management accounting services that add value and drive strategic financial decisions that will support this busy service area. What you'll be doing:
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee the financial management of Southwark's HRA Repairs and Maintenance programme, ensuring value for money in a challenging financial environment.
- Savings Delivery: Lead the implementation of an ambitious savings plan by developing innovative initiatives, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and reporting progress effectively.
- Comprehensive Financial Oversight: Manage financial and management accounting for both the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) and General Fund, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Procurement Excellence: Shape procurement strategies to keep Repairs and Maintenance programmes compliant, cost-effective, and adaptive to evolving regulations and financial strategies.
- Service Sustainability: Drive contractor evaluation and due diligence processes, safeguarding the sustainability of vital services.
A fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with proven experience in financial leadership. - A strategic thinker who can balance rigorous compliance with innovative problem-solving.
- An adept communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead diverse teams.
- Corporate accountancy experience, ideally within Local Government or the Public Sector.
- Strong skills in financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
- Passion for fostering a cost-conscious culture with pragmatic solutions.
- Proven ability to design robust processes and systems for effective change management.
- Flexible hybrid working, combining remote work with visits to our London Bridge HQ.
