  • Act as the joint accountable Lead for a specific technical section of the GLH Laboratory; including managing the staff, equipment and processes within it.
  • Manages and coordinates the day to day activities associated within a specific technical section.
  • Leads on service improvement and staff development necessary to address the changing needs of the GLH.
  • Computer manipulation and analysis of data for diagnostic tests.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen within our busy Genomics Laboratory for a well-organised and experienced individual to lead and manage the Next Generation Sequencing team within our wet laboratory. We are looking for a Technical Team Lead who can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the role of NGS in genomic testing for rare disease and cancer diagnosis. The individual is required to have several years of hands-on experience in NGS and/or WGS within a laboratory as well as being proficient in general molecular laboratory techniques. Service improvement and quality management in a UKAS Accredited laboratory is highly desirable. This post will involve working closely with the current NGS & Automation Leads to lead and supervise the technical staff. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to managing the workload of the section and liaising with clinical scientists, other technical leads and support staff.
