Full Job Description
The Governance Team comprises the University Secretary and three Senior Governance Officers and is responsible for supporting the University's Council and its Committees including Senate. Over the next 12 months, the Team will be working to ensure the smoothest possible transition to the new governance arrangements which came into effect on 1st August 2024 with the merger of City with St George's form City St George's University of London.
You will support the work of Council Committees by planning agendas, preparing papers, managing the circulation of papers, preparing briefs for Committee Chairs, taking minutes of meetings, and monitoring actions arising from meetings to ensure the smoothest possible transition to new governance arrangements at the University.
You will possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills as the key relationships are with very senior people i.e. independent Council members and the University's senior team. The role also requires excellent written communication skills, good attention to detail and the ability to maintain contacts, drawing support and advice from others to resolve problems and knowing who to liaise with on key issues.
Interviews are likely to be held week commencing 2 December 2024. The selection process will involve an exercise designed to test written communication skills and the ability to produce clear and concise written materials.
