As Senior Graphic Designer for Apparel, you are responsible for the creation, execution, and management of brand & trend relevant graphics, prints and trims for our "Speed" and Special Make-Up seasonal product for our global key accounts. This role will require a deep understanding of current graphic and print trends, extensive knowledge of embellishment techniques, possess strong collaboration and ideation skills, ability to clearly communicate creative ideas to design leadership, fellow designers and product managers. This job is based at the New Balance UK office in Warrington. To accompany your application, please could you also submit your portfolio via a link or attachment. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Actively research trends, inspiration, print and graphic techniques. Compile seasonal graphic mood boards based on design concepts and keep team informed of any opportunities that seem relevant for the brand.
- Translate insights and inspiration into authentic narratives and visual storytelling.
- Implement industry-standard, store-ready graphics to the highest level.
- Work collaboratively with design leadership and respective team members to produce brand relevant apparel graphics, prints, trims, etc. that reflect New Balance's DNA and standards.
- Prepare and deliver effective design presentations (visually and verbally) that sell ideas effectively to internal and external parties
- Support the team through the entire graphic process from research, concept ideation, creation of original designs, development of tech packs, and providing strike off comments and solutions to development team.
- Work closely and communicate regularly with category leads, designers, and product development teams to help problem solve where necessary.
- Challenge status quo to promote innovation in design, production, materials, process, etc. REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
- 4+ years practical experience in a relevant area
- Expert in sketching, illustration, typography, branding, print and pattern, colour theory and layout. 3D tools for graphic creation, such as Blender, Cinema4D, is a bonus.
- Advanced user in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (Clo 3D is a bonus).
- Versatile in a wide range of graphic and illustration styles required.
- Excited to challenge conventions and bring fresh perspectives to our brand.
- Strong understanding of print and embellishment techniques for apparel.
- Demonstrate flexibility/adaptability while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills with a high level of initiative & self-sufficiency.
- Able to objectively critique and curate your own work with great attention to detail.
- Understanding of garment construction is a bonus.
- A passion for global streetwear, fashion, and the sportswear industry.
- Up to date with popular culture and trends
