Senior Group Accountant / Manager
What we're looking for:
We're looking for help in our Group accounting & External Reporting team, who will be responsible for assisting on Group consolidation and aspects of the Group's internal and external reporting requirements. This will include, Group Annual accounts, interim financial statements (31 Dec 2024) and Statutory financial statements for several larger central entities and other ad hoc reporting requirements.
What you'll be doing

  • Assist with production of disclosures for IFRS consolidated annual and interim financial statements, along with detailed note workings

  • Assisting with significant M&A accounting related activity in maintenance of Business Combinations model and Intangible assets reconciliation

  • Assist with the production of annual statutory accounts of several holding / treasury companies

  • Assist with the external audit - proactively monitoring requests and helping team members to deliver, clarify requests and re-arrange timelines when needed

  • Assisting with M&A accounting related activity (helping with calculating purchase consideration, review off acquired balance sheet etc.)

  • Assist in collecting and review of new or changed leases and update of IFRS 16 model

  • Ad hoc reporting requests both internally as well other teams - Treasury, Tax, M&A, Divisional Finance, Timely and accurate production of various reporting packs, as well as production of quality detailed reconciliations, suggestions for process and system improvements.

  • You will also need to efficiently co-ordinate with business partners throughout the month end cycle.

  • High quality outputs presented in a concise and easy-to-follow manner.

    Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and familiarity with UK Law

  • Prior experience of large multi-currency group consolidation a bonus

  • Prior experience in using OneStream or HFM and Unit4 is a bonus

  • Ability to work under tight timeline whilst maintaining quality of deliverables

  • Plans ahead, with a proven ability of meeting deadlines.

  • Apply professional skepticism to identify when information may not be correct or may not make sense and understanding that one data set needs to reconcile to other in some way (which always needs to be presented)

  • A personal drive for producing high quality work.

  • Problem solving capability.

  • Effective interpersonal skills and a team player

  • Advanced MS Excel (SUMIF, VLOOKUP and Index match formulae), data manipulation and analysis


  • Professional Qualifications
  • Graduate level education (or equivalent)

  • Previous audit experience would be highly beneficial

  • Qualified accountant: 3-5 years PQE, ACA/ ACCA/ CA(SA) or equivalent
