Full Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Health & safety Advisor within the site-wide team. This role will be based on multiple Sublots from Long Itchington to Streethay.

  • Support and deputise for the Sublot H&S Manager when needed.
  • Be able to support BBV and HS2 behavioural and cultural change programmes through alignment with the Golden Behaviours and Golden Rules.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently on time critical / time sensitive workstreams.
  • Provide advice and support on relevant health and safety related issues to colleagues on site.
  • Advise on project compliance with the BBV health and safety management system and relevant UK legislation such as CDM, and other Construction related legislative requirements.
  • Complete documented site inspections and joint inspections with suppliers, BBV and Subcontractor teams.
  • Support project and construction colleagues in effective delivery of safety briefings / health and safety communications.
  • When needed, provide support for the development of site related health and safety related communications.

    Previous experience in Construction Project Health & Safety
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Construction activities - minimum)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (with construction experience - minimum)
  • Experience of working on construction projects (earthworks, groundworks, civil work, lifting operations, M&E and MEWPs)
  • Please note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this role.

  • About Balfour Beatty VINCI Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI's role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:
  • 9.3km of viaducts
  • 62 overbridges
  • 35 cuttings
  • 56 culverts
  • 62 embankments
  • 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels
  • 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses
