The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable., The Senior Healthcare Assistant (Theatre Assistant) plays an essential role in the smooth running of Theatres providing assistance to registered staff in the delivery of a high standard of care., The Senior Healthcare Assistant (Level 3) has a greater degree of autonomy than the Healthcare Assistant and undertakes a broader range of health and care in accordance with policy and procedures. The post holder will work on their own initiative, undertaking delegated tasks with appropriate supervision in place from a registered practitioner/assistant practitioner.
The Senior Healthcare Assistant (Level 3) will assist the Registered Practitioner/ Assistant Practitioner in the assessment, on-going assessment, planning, management and evaluation of care. Under direction of the Registered Practitioner/ Assistant Practitioner, supports appropriate individualised, clinical/risk assessments providing accurate feedback as necessary.
Deliver safe, high quality, compassionate care following individualised care plans and treatment interventions determined by the Registered Practitioner.
Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Practitioner/ Assistant Practitioner.
Support effective theatre efficiency and flow; collect patients and escort them to theatre, checking all relevant documentation and informing registered staff where there are any deviations., Equality remains at the centre of the Health Boards policy-making, service delivery and employment practices. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a flexible approach and adaptability. As when service demands, staff are required to work across all three hospital sites, within Swansea Bay University Health Board.
