Full Job Description

This new post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), due to open in 2025 in Hereford.

The Community Diagnostic Centre will incorporate Imaging (Plain X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI), a range of cardiorespiratory investigations including echocardiography, ECG and rhythm monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, spirometry, FeNO, lung function tests, simple field tests, sleep investigations, oximetry, blood gas analysis and pathology services in a "one stop" location to obtain diagnostic information in cancer, cardiac, respiratory, musculo-skeletal and other conditions.

As a Healthcare Support Worker at the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) you will also be required to work across CDC and the Clinical Support Outpatient Departments ,Oxford Suite and Fred Bulmer.

This exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a dedicated team providing outpatient care at the new CDC and Outpatient Department at the County Hospital. As a Healthcare Support Worker in these areas you will assist clinical teams to provide care and support patients through their cancer journeys.

You will be trained in supporting in clinics, acting as a chaperone, performing phlebotomy as an essential skill and any other skills that are required of you., To support the activities of the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) and Outpatients departments in Oxford Suite and Fred Bulmer.

To work under the direct/indirect supervision of and in support of the Consultant, registered nurse and or the registered Allied Health Professional carrying out delegated nursing and non-nursing duties to promote patient centred care.

To ensure that all duties required to assist the clinician performing the clinic are completed in a timely manner to ensure the best patients experience possible. To be mindful at all times of the impact on patients of own actions.
