Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Nurse in Infection Prevention and Control Nurse (Band 8a) at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. We are seeking an outstanding, dynamic and enthusiastic individual with existing leadership and IPC experience to build on the excellent work that is undertaken by the team. The post holder will support, develop and implement systems to improve the quality of infection prevention and control management, by the delivery of national directives to develop local strategies for quality, patient safety and safe systems of working for staff. In addition to acute hospital services, the trust provides a wide variety of specialist care and a full range of community services to children and adults. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and have a flexible approach to work. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate others. You must also be computer literate and have good organisational skills and be able to demonstrate autonomy working and also work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Interviews: week commencing 10thFebruary, 2025.

  • Analyse key performance indicator data from a range of sources, incorporating bench marking to make recommendations internally and externally regarding quality and safety.
  • Analyse information from surveys, audits, reviews and investigations and work with the Deputy DIPC to develop and implement monitoring systems for improving Quality & Safety.
  • Assess the relevance of National policy and guidance; work in collaboration with the Deputy DIPC regarding implementation and evaluation.
  • Ensure Board Assurance Framework is maintained and provided through agreed escalation, communication and reporting channels.
  • In depth understanding and experience of clinical governance and quality management.
  • The post holder will develop a quality, proactive, evidence based IPC service to prevent and reduce the incidence of infections and implement systems to enhance patient and staff safety across the organisation.
