City St. George's Library service provides support to students, staff and the wider University community, with user support delivered both online and at our library help desks. Library Services hold Customer Service Excellence accreditation. We are seeking to recruit a Senior Information Assistant to join our User Services team. The role will be based at our Northampton Square Library, located at City St George's Clerkenwell campus and will play a key role in supervising library user services at the library help desk and across the library premises, supporting the online enquiry service. The post holder will give supervision and direction to staff providing user support as well as shelving procedures and overseeing the library study spaces.

The Senior Information Assistant (User Services) role involves the supervision of the delivery of the enquiry and circulation services based at the Northampton Square Library. Duties will include contributing to the delivery of services at help desks and online user support (including online chat, enquiries and booking systems), as well overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of high quality library study spaces. You will be responsible for the maintenance of user records on the library management system, along with processing external and non-standard membership applications. Furthermore, you will assist in the scheduling and assigning of duties at library service points, including supporting the work of the Evening and Weekend team. You will also participate in Operational and Project groups to support delivery of the library operational plan.

You will be experienced in supporting the delivery of a customer focused service and will possess good verbal and written communication skills. You will be familiar with using libraries and library resources and able to utilize information technology to a high standard, including web technologies and social media. You will work effectively in a team as well as individually and be able to organize and prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines. You will require excellent customer service skills, as well as problem-solving and the ability to deal tactfully with people.
