The Senior Tech Business Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between external and internal vendors and will understand any changes on the vendor side that could have impact. The Senior BA will understand the vendor side change, analyse the impact and work with other internal stakeholders to make changes as needed to ensure the overall stability of Citi's golden source of reference data. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to the continuous development of a strategic data application within the ISG (Information Services Group). In this role you will work on a best-in-class system that acts as the strategic source for high quality Securities Reference data across the enterprise, enhancing it's capabilities and data in line with business and regulatory requirements. By joining the Security Master Central (SMC) team you will work with the latest technologies and interact with stakeholders from across the bank enabling Citi to succeed in delivering value for our clients, while playing a key role in our data governance and data quality strategy. - Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors.
- Researching and implementing industry/vendor software migration projects
- Continually monitoring and Interpreting communications from multiple vendor sources on market and vendor data changes
- Analyse the impact of market and vendor driven changes on SMC application and to Citi business.
- Propose solutions, if needed, to ensure that market and vendor driven changes are accurately reflected on SMC application.
- Alert the appropriate SMC stakeholders and work with any users to ensure smooth outcome to any market and vendor driven changes.
- Utilize knowledge of software development lifecycle procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analysing/interpreting code
- Derive test cases and test system component changes through the testing environments to ensure the solutions accurately reflect the vendor management analysis.
- Analysis of large sets of product reference data across Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Structured Finance securities from varying sources.
- Consult with users and clients to trouble shoot complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes and systems.
- Foster communication between business leaders and IT stakeholders facilitating exchange of ideas/information in a concise and logical manner.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts and work as a team to improve efficiency of delivery, performing other duties and functions as assigned
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Relevant experience with knowledge of financial Markets being advantageous - Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
- Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, communication and presentation skills with an ability to tailor delivery to the required audience.
- Proven problem-solver with the ability to work under pressure, approach work methodically and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Experience in data analysis with knowledge of databases
- SQL knowledge a must
- Ability to work independently and in a team across levels, regions, and functions, with understanding of how collaboration accomplishes objectives.
- Able to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. And can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- You should have experience of partner management and influencing skills
- Microsoft office skills - Primarily Excel
- Knowledge of the various stages of Software Development Lifecycle and knowledge of applicable business systems and industry standards. Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree OR equivalent experience
