Senior IT Project Manager

Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin's attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager to join our Technology department on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. The role will be based at London office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.,

• Deliver IT Solutions: Address user requirements or problems within agreed timelines, budget, and quality standards, adhering to change control processes.


• Customer Service Excellence: Prioritise and meet the needs of both internal and external customers, ensuring high standards of service.


• Project Documentation: Create and secure approval for Project Initiation Documents, project plans, and other documentation, following Merlin Technology's Stage Gate process.


• Dependency and Risk Management: Identify and manage project dependencies, critical paths, and risks, planning necessary mitigations.


• Resource Estimation: Estimate resources required to achieve project goals.


• Timeline and Milestone Planning: Use tools like MS Project to plan and schedule project timelines and milestones.


• Budget Management: Draft and submit CAPEX budget proposals, monitor and control project budgets against actual and planned spend.


• Stakeholder Communication: Contribute to Project Board meetings, liaise with stakeholders, and report project status and forecasts.


• Change Management: Manage requests for changes and ensure appropriate testing of all IT systems or solutions.


• Implementation and Transition: Oversee delivery, implementation, and transition into operational support, ensuring smooth handover.


• Project Closure: Conduct Lessons Learned workshops, compile recommendations, create Closure reports, and gain Project Acceptance Sign Off.


• Team Leadership: Line manage junior project management team members and contribute to project governance development.
  
  Proven relevant experience in IT Project Management.


Commercial IT experience working with the following technologies and methods:

• APM (or other/regional equivalent e.g. PMI)


• Microsoft Office product suite


• Coordination and Planning (Microsoft Project)


• Experience of structured methodologies such as TDD, Agile, and Waterfall.


• ITIL/Microsoft Operations Framework experience / qualified. - desirable


• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.


• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
