Full Job Description

Our new Senior IT Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliable running of the IT systems throughout Destination Sport Group through both proactive and reactive action. Provide technical support and technical project delivery to both the internal IT team and wider Business Stakeholders.

This is a varied & hands on role, as our new Senior IT Support Engineer you will:

  • Work with our 7 sport companies within Destination Sport to ensure our IT Systems and infrastructure are maintained, optimised and protected against any threats

  • Autonomously manage IT projects, collaborating closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager to deliver efficient technical solutions

  • Proactively identify, recommend and implement improvements and efficiencies across our IT systems and infrastructure

  • Proactively identify, recommend and implement security improvements in our IT Systems and Infrastructure

  • Respond to Security alerts from MS Defender and SOC in timely manner ensuring all effected parties are notified of any threats

  • Proactively monitor the service health our Microsoft and Azure estates and take any action required to resolve any issues and notify our stakeholders if applicable

  • Maintain and update network Infrastructure (where appropriate) in the Manchester office

  • Provide support to and resolve any incidents, problems or requests and make improvements associated with these technologies:

  • o Desktop / Laptop Builds (including Autopilot configuration)
    o Azure Server Estate
    o Entra ID
    o Automated Software Deployment (Intune, MAM/MDM)
    o 8 x 8 Telephony
    o Key IVR
    o Domain Name Registration and maintenance including Cloudflare
    o DMARC
    o Print Management
    o Cisco Meraki
    o Microsoft 365 Ecosystem including Teams and SharePoint
    o Microsoft Teams Rooms and Associated AV solutions
    o Enterprise Application Integration in Azure
    o Email / Web Filtering
    o Asset management
    o Network Patching
    o Remote Site Management
    o System Security
  • Work closely with the existing IT Infrastructure Manager to ensure security for office based & remote workers. As an ISO27001, BS10012, ISO22301 and Cyber Essentials Plus accredited business you must always carry out your role according to company IT policies.

  • Assist with the handling of confidential information by ensuring appropriate file permissions are set

  • Verify Microsoft 365, AD & AV set-up is as per company policy including memory stick blocking etc

  • Assist with user education both remotely & face to face

  • Check and be ready for disaster recovery or business continuity plans to be brought into action

  • Carry out critical checks that enable proactive action to prevent any significant failure

    Have significant experience in a similar role within a fast paced business

  • Have significant experience and knowledge of the technologies listed above

  • Efficiently work independently but also as part of a team

  • Have a proven record in a fast paced commercial environment

  • Have significant knowledge of IT risks and the importance of suitable mitigations

  • Have knowledge of ITIL Service Management principles

  • Have reasonable in-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP & DHCP/ IP

  • Have working experience with Windows 10/11 system Administration

  • Possess experience and knowledge of Office 365 & desktop imaging/ Autopilot

  • Have the ability to provide friendly internal customer service in an often high pressured role

  • Liaise with business partners and suppliers in an efficient and friendly manner

  • Be proactive with the ability to multitask - ensuring technical requests are see through to completion

  • Be a diligent personality, ensuring preparations are made in advance for a task with resolutions in mind for any issues that arise

  • Be a collaborative team member who can work as part of a wider team

  • Have excellent communications skills both verbal & written and a flexible approach to work
