You will be exposed to a wide spectrum of platform technologies such as Kubernetes clusters, connectivity, databases. As well as numerous technologies in the SDLC and CICD space. This confers opportunities to create automations to eliminate toil and improve developer experience.

  • Leading a team of engineers who develop tooling, with a focus on security and controls, to ensure Banking operations remain compliant with technical audit regulations.

  • Interacting with stakeholders that focus on the control and compliance aspects of the platform

  • Maintain and build a cloud platform for application developers and provide support to enforce controls in their SDLC and developer experience, with the minimum of manual intervention and maximum automation

  • Manage and interact with vendors and other areas of the business to plan improvements and coordinate project efforts

  • Participate in on-call rota

Experience developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud (we use AWS)

  • Experience managing public cloud infrastructure using infra-as-code technologies (we use Terraform)

  • Good knowledge of Kubernetes clusters' operations and deployment (we use EKS)

  • Good knowledge of programming using a modern language (Java/Python/Go)

  • Principal engineer's experience comfortable designing solutions at scale

  • Excellent understanding of DevOps principles and SDLC best practices

  • Able to influence peers and seniors in various forums

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience managing a 5-8 people squad

  • Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Familiar with software engineering security best practices in a cloud environment

  • Formal training or certification on developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud concepts and proficient advanced experience

  • Automation mindset (OPA experience preferred)

  • Experience developing unit, integration and end-to-end software tests

  • Experience with performance management
