Full Job Description

The post will predominantly focus on Electrophysiology. The post holder will be expected to contribute fully to the Electrophysiology service, which is delivered on all sites across MFT; this post will be based across Wythenshawe Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary. Furthermore the post holder will be an integral part of the Electrophysiology team, helping to develop the service as part of the single hospital service programme of work.
There will be an expectation on the postholder to contribute to outpatient clinics, catheter lab activity and consultant on-call/consultant of the week rotas.
The Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe site catheter laboratories presently perform over 1250 Electrophysiology procedures per year on aggregate, with an increasing burden of acute and complex work. The post holder will provide extensive support to the catheter lab Electrophysiology programme, and will be expected to work within the team who deliver a wide-ranging suite of procedures, such as AF ablation and ablation for SVT and VT.
A strong commitment to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching and a Research interest is desirable. Recruitment to clinical trials occurs through the local research network, and the Trust research and innovation programme is led by Prof Chris Miller. Additionally there are active links with bioengineering, translational and basic science cardiovascular biology programmes in Manchester., The post will predominantly focus on Electrophysiology.
