Senior LED in CCT Interventional Fellowship

Successful applicants will work with the Thoracic Oncology department in a team of 5 fellows, gaining experience in the rapid cancer clinic, and procedures including linear EBUS, AFI bronchoscopy, radial probe EBUS, Navigational bronchoscopy and soon to be robotic bronchoscopy. There will also be opportunity for experience in pleural procedures with local anaesthetic thoracoscopy, indwelling pleural catheters, chest drains and ambulatory pleural vents.

The post holder will work in the rapid HSC clinics, pleural clinics, and support specialist ward referrals. There will be the opportunity to undertake research projects and present at conferences. This will all help build their portfolio prior to taking up a definitive Consultant post with an interest in Pleural Disease/Intervention/Lung Cancer. Equally registrars in training who wish to increase their expertise of procedural skills whilst consolidating their respiratory training., The posts will be focused on all the elements involved in the management of lung cancer pathways, from early detection with screening to management of complex lung cancer and pleural disease. They will offer the post holder the opportunity to further develop interventional skills including endobronchial skills with other pleural and minimally invasive thoracic techniques.

In addition to the interventional procedures the post-holders will be involved with the full diagnostic pathways from screening triage, outcoming of screening investigations, rapid access lung cancer clinics, Cancer and Pleural ward consult service, MDT, including specialist pleural MDT, teaching, research & Audit and service development.
