Full Job Description

Our client, a respected law firm located in East Ham, is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong background in legal cashiering to contribute to the smooth operation of the firm's financial processes. As a Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.,

  • Process Transactions: Handle client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments, and transfers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).

  • Reconcile Accounts: Perform daily reconciliation of client and office bank accounts, addressing any discrepancies promptly.

  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and statements, ensuring they are up-to-date and comply with legal regulations.

  • Handle Billing: Assist with billing procedures, including preparing and issuing invoices, managing client accounts, and processing payments.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, legal and regulatory requirements, and firm policies.

  • Client Liaison: Communicate with clients regarding financial matters, providing clear and professional responses to queries.

  • Reporting: Prepare financial reports and summaries as required by senior management and assist with audits and financial reviews.

    Experience: Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier in a law firm is essential, with a strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).

  • Skills: Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

  • IT Skills: Proficient in using legal accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.

  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently, with strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Team Player: Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
