Senior Legal Counsel

Canon UK are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide commercial legal support to the CUK & Ireland businesses and support functions. Also advising on compliance with relevant national and European laws and regulations, together with Canon UK and Canon Europe internal policies.

• provide commercially minded legal, compliance and governance support on a variety of matters


• be responsible for drafting, negotiating and advising on B2B contracts


• support the creation of legal processes, contracting templates and legal guidance notes for the business.


• advise on a broad range of commercial contracts (including supply, distribution, selective distribution, sponsorship, leasing, etc), marketing issues (including advertising and promotions in both the business and consumer areas), competition law issues, data privacy, litigation/dispute management, intellectual property, anti-bribery and corruption, corporate compliance, governance and others as required from time to time.


• provide training to the business as required e.g. competition law.


• work with EMEA Legal Team colleagues and participate in EMEA Legal working groups and projects.


• review and assess risk/legal implications of relevant company strategies and activities, making recommendations for change, as required., working policy and you will work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
  
  Significant experience of drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts. At least some specific experience in relation to goods/hardware/software/services contracts.


• Basic competency in in-house commercial law topics such as competition, data protection, advertising and/or a willingness to learn.


• Evidence of continuing expansion of technical and company knowledge, skills and competencies will be expected.
