Full Job Description

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing advice and counsel on global legal and regulatory requirements and establishing standards related to Dun & Bradstreet's Global Data Solutions, including Digital Advertising/Marketing Data and Solutions, Master Data Management, and Identity Resolution Data and Solutions. You will be a key member of the Data & Product Compliance Center of Excellence. Reporting to the Managing Attorney, Global Data, Analytics, and AI Compliance, and supporting as a member of the Global Compliance and Ethics (GCE) Extended Leadership Team.,

  • Delivers Legal, Compliance, and Ethics best practices, insights and expertise on global privacy and data protection requirements related to the following areas:
  • Digital and Offline Advertising and Marketing Technologies and SolutionsB2B Data Solutions, including marketing and advertising to individuals in a professional contextB2C Data Solutions, including marketing and advertising to individuals in a personal or household contextIdentity Resolution, including B2B2C Identity Graph Data and SolutionsIntent Data and SolutionsOnline Tracking Technologies Master Data Management Solutions
  • Primary Legal, Compliance, and Ethics reviewer for D&B projects and initiatives related to the areas listed above. This includes:
  • Providing regulatory legal and compliance guidance related to privacy and data protection, data sourcing, acceptable use, data transfer and localization, data minimization, data and records retention, processing, and security controls. Ensuring records of processing and applicable impact assessments are completed with comprehensive documentation of data flows, risks, controls, and remediations.

  • 12+ years of legal experience, preferably some in-house, with at least 5 years of experience advising on global privacy and data protection regulation within the Digital Marketing or Identity Resolution ecosystem.
  • Additional relevant compliance qualifications and certifications, such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPM, preferred but not required.
  • Thorough understanding of the data, strategies, risks, and applicable global regulations for the Digital Marketing and Advertising ecosystem.
  • Experience providing counsel for global privacy and data protection issues specific to B2B and B2C data utilized for S&MS products and services across all technologies and channels.
  • Experience providing counsel for privacy and data protection issues related to Identity Resolution and Audience Segmentation. Ideally has experience with B2B2C identity graphs and other methods of matching digital interactions and online/offline data.
  • Knowledgeable about the latest trends, best practices, and global regulatory landscape for cookies, tags, pixels, digital advertising personalization, and other tracking technologies.
  • Strong technical background and understanding. Ability to collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to understand system architecture, document data flows, and coordinate with security teams to understand, address, and document security controls.
  • Customer-focused commercial-oriented, and innovation mindset. Comfortable translating complex legal requirements into operational controls for business and technology teams.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills. Demonstrates strong aptitude for evaluating a range of risks and effectively communicating relevant impact to business owners.

  • Prior experience with regulatory outreach and advocacy and participation in industry and trade groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex projects and programs.
  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity. Open-minded and preferably a change agent. Demonstrated ability to regularly adjust and re-prioritize to meet multiple stakeholder and organizational needs as well as an ever-evolving regulatory landscape.
  • Passionate about data and data-driven. Comfortable communicating with prospects, customers, and other constituents about data and compliance.
  • Outcomes-oriented. Strives not only to get things done well, but to demonstrate the value of contributions.
  • Experience with ethical decision-making, values-oriented compliance, and supporting a culture of compliance preferred.
  • Risk management experience preferred.
  • Agile, scrum, lean six-sigma or other operational excellence experience is a plus.
