Full Job Description

The Medical Library is looking to appoint 2 new team members, both delivering teaching and research support. Both are 0.5FTE, working pattern to be decided.

One will work with the Liaison Librarian (School of Clinical Medicine) to support research, teaching and learning in staff and students of the School of Clinical Medicine. The other will work with the Liaison Librarian (CUH) to deliver information skills to support the clinical care, research and professional development in staff of Cambridge University NHS Foundation Trust.

Both appointees will work closely with each other, with both Liaison Librarians, and the wider ML team. There will be opportunities to work collaboratively with colleagues in libraries throughout University of Cambridge as well as local NHS libraries.

Both of you will be supporting users through teaching, in small or large groups or one-to-one, online and in person. Topics will include literature searching and reference management. You will both be closely involved in developing and maintaining the library's social media presence, and working in an outreach capacity on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Contributing to the marketing and evaluation of these activities will be a key part of your role.

You will both be working at our busy enquiry desk, helping library users in person and online, so you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and strong IT competence.

This is an opportunity to develop your skills, and so applicants should have an interest in their own professional development.

Given the 0.5FTE hours, we expect you to have good time management skills and be self-motivated.
