Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Arla Foods flagship UK dairy as a Process Engineer. Providing specialist Maintenance & Engineering support to a fully automated site, operating complex process equipment such as Homogenisers, pasteurization, Separators, CIP systems, instrumentation, pumps and much more. So what do our Process Engineers do?

  • To effectively perform electrical, mechanical maintenance and controls fault finding of all Dairy process equipment.
  • Ensuring the legal compliance and efficient/reliable operation of all plant within budget while instilling an atmosphere of continuous improvement to ensure the continued effectiveness of our operations.
  • There will be a key emphasis on customer relations effectively liaising with all departments including site Energy Centre., Condition Based Monitoring (CBM)
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
  • Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)
  • Use of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) - SAP Maintenance Module
  • Deliver day to day and preventive maintenance on all site servers, drivers and automation systems.

  • Drive and provides support to a function or operational unit at a large site.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of operational M&E procedures and tools.
  • Delivers within established processes, data driven and procedures with some scope to act outside of these.
  • Delivers data and support within a short-term time frame.
  • May influence others in their function or operational unit and may interact with external stakeholder, Arla Global IT/M&E functions., Leads a structured updating and maintenance on designated equipment.
  • Ensures quality and food safety within in own area of responsibility, and quality and food safety mindset.
  • Challenges processes and practices. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and supports LCO Teams on continuous optimization and development opportunities in daily operations with a data driven mindset.
  • Contributes that the department complies with Arla Foods' standards, policies as well as applicable law and Health, Safety & Food Safety procedures and mindset.
  • Conducts and improves predictive maintenance of complex line equipment.
  • Conducts corrective maintenance in case of site equipment failure and breakdown.
  • Completes and updates plant maintenance records complying with all departmental procedures.
  • Performs all activities in accordance with company and statutory requirements in order to provide a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Delivers continues improvement and equipment/process modifications and technical input to CAPEX projects.
  • Contributes to digital transformation and sustainability within specific area.
  • Utilizes CMMS systems and reporting suites.
  • Carries out equipment and plant condition appraisals.
  • Develops SOP's and work instructions.
  • Accountable for supporting the implementation of maintenance excellence.

    Ideally will have a recognised time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline with HNC/HND
  • Able to demonstrate logical thought processes and ways of working
  • 3 years recent detailed experience within an automated process environment - Food / Drinks / Brewing / Pharmaceutical
  • Technical hands on expert in all process related plant and equipment Mechanical /Electrical/Instrumentation
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Skilled in reading SCADA visualisations, Knowledge gained through formal education with limited experience and/or significant years of relevant work experience (10+ years) gained in the specific technical area combined with technical education.
  • Relevant Maintenance/IT/ Technical/ Engineering education.
