Senior Management Accountant

Heart of England Co-operative Society is looking for a talented and driven Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Coventry. As a key financial partner, you'll support strategic decision-making, drive financial excellence, and work closely with colleagues across various departments to support the Society's growth and success.

Main Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial finance support to monitor growth plans and manage risks.
- Assist with the month-end close process, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Collaborate across departments to align financial objectives and improve performance.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Enhance and monitor the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow processes.
- Conduct cash flow forecasting to help manage debt levels.
- Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights.
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support ongoing process improvement initiatives across finance functions.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks as required by the Head of Finance and executive management.

Qualified or finalist accountant (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA) with 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of managing data and providing valuable insights.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial reports.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Growth mindset with a focus on learning and continuous improvement., Experience with the Access accounting package.
- Previous experience in the retail sector.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large volumes of data.
