Full Job Description
The RFL are currently recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant. The purpose of this role is
- Liaise with department heads within the organisation to provide meaningful commentary on the accounts and valuable insight into their budget areas, including analysis of payroll.
- Provide detailed accounts analysis for both finance and other departments as required, including budget and forecast impacts.
- Prepare cashflow reports for both the RFL and RL Commercial weekly, providing updates to the Head of Finance.
- Support the Head of Finance in producing the year end statutory accounts for the RFL group and lead in the external audit process, providing information as required.
- Liaise with local and national government funding bodies e.g. Sport England, providing financial reporting for grants, completion of Assurance Statements (and similar) and assisting with the preparation of budgets. Manage the portfolio of grants including presenting information back to relevant departments monthly.
- Line manage two members of the finance team, with the potential to progress to manage further members of the team, providing support as needed in relation to the purchase ledger, sales ledger cashbook, and all aspects of the management accounts.
- Take responsibility for submission of VAT returns in line with deadlines as well as Company
The candidate will be a fully qualified accountant either through ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. - Will require at least 2-year post qualification experience working within a finance department.
- Previous managerial experience in supervising and coaching junior team members.
- Good experience and knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- A good understanding and experience in working with accounting software (Xero).
