Full Job Description

The Client Social Value Lead will lead the Client Social Value Team (currently 2 individuals, with proposal for 2 secondees). It will require working closely with G&PS Leadership, our network of Social Value Champions and G&PS Purpose leads, the Public Sector Bid Team, Purpose Team and Growth colleagues to develop, implement and manage our response to both delivering on the Government's Social Value model and shape our broader approach to client impact,

  • Develop, deliver &secure buy-in for our client impact strategy (leveraging thinking that has already taken place and the aims and aspirations developed for GPS Social Value.)

  • Oversee further development and implementation of infrastructure to support social value bidding, & G&PS practice wide engagement and training to enable delivery.

  • Work closely with the Public Sector Bid Team and Pursuits Centre of Excellence to instill best practice in social value bidding through bid advisor training, subject matter expert support and other activities, whilst also building networks and connections to other bidding teams across the business

  • Coach bid teams for major bids in building social value into their win themes and question responses in a deliverable and sustainable way

  • Work with key stakeholders across the firm (e.g. our UK, NSE & Global Purpose Teams, our Public Interest Team, Growth colleagues) to ensure that our client social value work is aligned and delivering against wider firm activities

  • Provide SME input and strategic insight on social value to client account teams where required

  • Lead our approach to client driven pro-bono working with SGOs and industries to build compelling pro-bono opportunities that allow us to collaborate with our clients to drive social outcomes, whilst supporting commercial objectives.

  • Drive and champion environmental and societal purpose commitments

  • Play a key role in the Social Impact leadership team, collaborating with colleagues across the team to deliver on the teams objectives around partnerships, people engagement and communications, and measurement.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance our client social impact, communicating these to leadership and executing actions to take these ideas forward

  • Manage a diverse team within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution, including taking line manager responsibility for two roles

  • This role is at the heart of delivering our social impact strategy, we are looking for a client facing professional to lead social impact with our clients. This exciting new role has a strong focus on delivering against the UK Government's focus on Social Value, which created a high impact opportunity to shape and drive the development and delivery of our GPS social value activities, whilst also influencing and helping shape our cross-firm client societal agenda and activities.

    The Government & Public Services (G&PS) practice has grown significantly in the past 3 years and is one of the Firm's fastest growing industries. The Social Value model, launched in January 2021, requires procuring departments to attribute a minimum of 10% of the evaluation marks in tenders to social value. This role leads our response.

    This role will also be required to look at how we take the best practise from GPS and scale impact across the firm, whilst also better leveraging our pro-bono activity to support client outcomes
