Full Job Description

Our Risk and Compliance function has a critical role to play in supporting, challenging and advising across all areas of the business through establishing policy, monitoring profiles, and identifying and managing forward-looking risk and compliance.   • Manage and develop MI and reporting to deliver actionable insight into delinquency trends, effectiveness of forbearance solutions and assessment of operational performance.

  • Use data to assess the effectiveness of the Customers in Financial Difficulty Policy, identifying areas of improvement and using data to evidence it supports good customer outcomes.

  • Develop, measure and oversee operational execution of the collections contact strategy to ensure customers are receiving support where they need it.

  • Develop insight into changes in customer delinquency, the reasons for changes and build customer profiling to drive targeted action to support improved customer outcomes (through policy changes, operational improvements)

  • Lead the Recovery strategy to optimise financial returns whilst ensuring good customer outcomes are maintained. Measure recovery performance and propose alternatives strategies as needed.

  • Lead the team's data transition to our new Risk Data Mart, supporting your team in training to use new coding languages , building wider team capability to self-serve on MI needs, creating the space for new data solutions to support Credit Risk Oversight.

  • Find data solutions to the Credit Risk Oversight team's need to demonstrate Credit Risk policy is being adhered to as intended. Building access to and knowledge of data outside of Credit Risk to inform on execution risk.

  • Line management responsibilities of colleagues and teams including the appraisal of staff performance.

    Experience of leading larger analytical teams within a Risk environment is Essential.

  • Experience of having managed analytic or modelling projects by working/ guiding analysts to successful completion, on budget, on time and with financial benefits.

  • Relevant experience of working in an analytical or strategy role within financial services or an alternative data-driven organisation.

  • Proven experience with Portfolio management or Collections & Recoveries strategy desirable.

  • Highly developed analytical skills to extract information from data and translate to business language and financial impacts.

  • Ability to present complex statistical concepts and results in a way tailored to the audience in a persuasive and compelling way.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to deal with multiple stakeholders at any one time.

  • Self-motivated, customer focussed with an ability to solve complex problems with an eye for detail and accuracy, whilst still ensuring that the bigger picture is taken into consideration.


  • This role will be based in either Sheffield or Birmingham, Hybrid.
