Full Job Description

The Senior Manager Data Strategy & Reporting (Sr Mgr DSR) reports to the Director Data Strategy & Reporting. The Sr Mgr DSR leads and supports data-related initiatives and monitors performance for the EMEA division, addressing critical business questions from the executive leadership, area and discipline leaders as well as the wider EMEA Analytics Team. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating data-related strategies and ensuring the adoption of reporting and other data products.

This position collaborates with data engineers/scientists and the EMEA Consumer Operations teams, ingesting and transforming data from multiple sources to proactively recommend measures to enable informed day-to-day decision making.

The Sr Mgr DSR provides technical and strategic guidance on large-scale data and analytics projects, supporting key initiatives in the areas of data management and governance and identifying system or business process changes needed to improve data quality and capabilities.

The Sr Mgr DSR also partners with key stakeholders to develop and implement departmental strategies to ensure integration of data analytics, product catalog and mar tech with the company's data platform and related capabilities.

Scope:

The Sr Mgr DSR role provides support for data strategy & reporting across all hotels and brands within EMEA.

  • Location requirements: Flexible in Core Office locations - London, Eschborn and Dubai.

  • Language requirements: High proficiency (speaking, reading and writing) in English is required.

  • Travel requirements: Required business travel is estimated at 5%.


  • Expected Contributions:

    Guides data strategy efforts across the Consumer Operations Analytics Team, with a focus on Revenue Management, Sales, Loyalty and Digital Marketing disciplines.

    Helps stakeholders identify where to prioritize efforts to drive topline revenue streams, RevPAR Index and hotel profitability.

    Provides data/information expertise and consulting to support Consumer Operations stakeholders in achieving evolving goals.

    On a day-to-day basis, the Sr Mgr DSR:
  • Works with Analytics and IT Teams to deploy an effective data analytics infrastructure.

  • Thinks creatively to manage and enhance reporting and other data products used by Consumer Operations disciplines.

  • Partners with key stakeholders to identify current gaps in analytics, reporting and tools available to continent, area and hotel leaders as appropriate.

  • Manages strategic reporting solutions, including working with complex data processes to allow senior leadership to review portfolio performance and make executive decisions based on data.

  • Supports the wider EMEA Analytics Team with training related to data and reporting solutions (AWS, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI and Python) as well as the adoption of AI.

  • Validates data, research data quality issues, answers stakeholder questions and produce data product documentation.

  • Leads the development of automated processes to reduce manual data processing and improve data quality.

  • Advocates data-based decision making, develops necessary tools and frames issues to support Continent Leaders in identifying insights that can drive change.

  • Identifies opportunities to integrate AI use to improve efficiencies.

    Five or more years of experience demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance in data management, analytics, or data warehousing technology.

  • Experience with design and engineering of complex data flows and systems in the analytics industry/domain preferred.

  • Proven track record of strong consulting skills, with experience leading a small team to successful outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity, ambiguity and time constraints.

  • Technical Skills

  • Cloud Data Warehouse (Snowflake - required)

  • Data Analysis/Programming languages (SQL, Python required)

  • Data Visualization (Tableau required, Power BI preferred)

  • Microsoft Excel proficient skills required

  • Cloud Data Platform (AWS - preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and engage in analytics with practical applications to business needs.

  • Demonstrates self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm.

  • Manages time effectively and conducts activities in an organized manner.

  • Presents ideas, expectations and information in a concise, organized manner, to diverse audiences.

  • Uses problem solving methodology for decision making and follow up.


  • Education:
  • Degree from an accredited university in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or similar quantitative discipline preferred.
