Senior Manager - Financial Accounting

If so, a role as Senior Manager for Financial Accounting will provide you with just that. We have an opportunity for someone to join the team on a 13 month fixed term contract., As Senior Manager for External Reporting, you'll be leading a team to deliver the pro-active management of the Group's financial accounting and regulatory reporting activities.

You'll ensure that we maintain robust, timely and accurate systems of financial control and external reporting at all times.

To deliver this, you'll act as a business partner to teams across the society and Audit Committee members. You'll provide expert support, advice and challenge in relation to technical accounting queries, providing appropriate analysis, challenge and maintenance of robust control frameworks.

You'll also deliver the functional elements of the role, including external and statutory reporting, ensure compliance with changes to accounting standards and regulatory change, develop accounting policies, work with the audit committee and liaise with external auditors among others.

Leading your own team, you will be responsible for providing excellent leadership, coaching and management. You'll create a high performing team and support colleagues in their development.

As a Senior Manager you'll also demonstrate great leadership and champion best practice across Finance and the wider Society.

You'll need be a qualified accountant (ideally ACA or FCA), with experience in a finance leadership role. This'll be coupled with;

Evidence of leading a team to deliver high quality and compliant financial management and reporting

Financial control management experience

Detailed understanding of finance regulation in relation to YBS
