Full Job Description

We are seeking a successful and collaborative leader to join the team as a Senior Manager. You will act as a key adviser and partner to our businesses, helping them to define their M&A strategy and deliver on key opportunities. You'll be responsible for running a portfolio of activity and leading teams of M&A specialists on active projects. This is a high visibility role, with extensive collaboration with a broad range of leaders across the Group. Within the Group Corporate Development team, you will be a team leader and be responsible for developing and supporting the team's talent, resources and culture.,

  • Adviser to business leaders on strategic and commercial decisions relating to M&A opportunities and projects
  • Coordinate a portfolio of M&A activity and lead deal teams to successfully complete transactions
  • Expert on M&A best practise, deal structuring and valuation
  • Navigate governance processes and ensure we deliver our M&A with highest possible standards
  • Ensure strong support from and visibility of projects amongst key corporate and functional partners
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with our industry partners including Financial advisers, Investment Banking and Private Equity communities to support delivery of projects
  • Build strong industry knowledge and act as an authority on inorganic activity in market
  • Develop M&A team and contribute to decisions on team objectives, resourcing, career framework and training

    To be successful in this role, you should have excellent leadership skills, an ability to bring unique strategic and commercial perspectives to your work, extensive experience in designing and implementing a range of M&A transactions, and a strong ability to build and maintain high quality relationships with a variety of partners., The ideal candidate is an experienced M&A professional with a strong background in successfully leading and completing M&A transactions and experience across a wide variety of transaction types and deal structures.   • Ability to develop clear and pragmatic recommendations and plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to reach across an organization to bring the right expertise and diversity of perspectives together, adopting a range of operating models with different partners based on context and business need
  • Displays strong commercial skills and ability to develop perspectives on business strategy, driving ability to focus on what matters for our business in evaluating M&A opportunities and in execution
  • Expert level understanding of financial metrics, statements and valuation approaches
  • MBA or Master's degree; Professional qualification preferred (e.g. CFA, CA, ACA). For example, you might be a Manager or Senior Manager in a Group Corporate Development/M&A team at a large global corporate and/or extensive professional experience including a combination of M&A, Strategy, Finance, investment banking or private equity roles. Expertise in one or more of the following areas preferred: financial market infrastructure, financial services data, B2B data and analytics businesses and platform business models.
