Full Job Description

This role is to provide additional support to the existing team to aid the delivery of RAF project (OCIR and Restructuring) requirements. The role will be responsible for supporting the ongoing team in the implementation of the additional OCIR requirements through the Operational Resilience and Business Continuity framework in line with the annual calendar.,

  • Supporting the existing team in the implementation of the additional OCIR considerations through the BIA/BCP/DR reviews through working across the organisation including liaison with all business teams that support the resilience pillars (Technology, Third Party Management, Facilities and Business Lines) to ensure organisational and regulatory objectives are achieved.
  • Contribute to the continuous develop of the Operational Resilience, Business Continuity and Operational Continuity in Resolution Frameworks to increase maturity in line with regulatory expectations and industry best practice.
  • Provide advice, oversight, and robust challenge to business team in relation to the implementation of policy, framework, and minimum standards for operational resilience and business continuity.
  • Provide knowledge, skills and support to business areas and be a trusted advisor to Senior Leaders to ensure Operational Resilience, Business Continuity and OCIR is fully embedded in processes and across the business.
  • Maintain an expert understanding of all regulatory matters pertaining to Operational Resilience and Business Continuity for the UK and subsidiaries and drive alignment as required by regulation and group objectives.
  • Facilitate the annual BCP & IBS testing cycle, set standards and expectations for quality and deadlines.
  • Supporting team members in the delivery of key objectives.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive annual training plan for all staff.
  • Excellent written and spoken presentation skills and experience in presenting and chairing at senior management forums.

    To excel in this role, you should have a strong understanding of operational resilience, operational risk management, business continuity planning, crisis management, and regulatory requirements. The candidate should possess excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels. Additionally, you should be able to think strategically, analyse complex situations, and make sound decisions under pressure, Strong thought leader and communicator, with a deep understanding of the industry and customer needs along with solid experience in communicating with senior stakeholders, senior executives, and external parties.
  • Ability to influence decisions and actions of others, including internal business partners, external stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Ability to prioritise against many competing interests in an environment of constant change.
  • Demonstrable expertise in the principles and good practices of Operational Resilience Planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels and an ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in complex organisations with matrix structures.
  • Leadership skills and experience in managing teams.
  • Confidence at Board level and ability to effectively communicate with senior staff.
  • Be accountable and take ownership for ensuring you are familiar with all regulatory requirements that fall within the remit of your role and comply with them at all times.
  • Ideally an understanding of Operational Continuity in Resolution.
  • Experience
  • Good working knowledge, and ideally implementation of industry standards across Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management and Operational Resilience.
  • Knowledge of Operational Continuity in Resolution (OCIR) is an advantage.
  • Proven track record of experience in an equivalent role in FCA and PRA regulated firms.
