Full Job Description

This role leads the Transformation PMO for Business working directly with our Transformation Director .

The Transformation PMO will deliver a wide variety of services to the portfolio including reporting, assurance, benefit tracking, cost management, risk management and PPM tooling. By adopting a continuous improvement methodology, it will continually strive to increase its maturity level and adopt best practice from across industry. It is also responsible for running the pan-Business PPM community.

You will be supporting the PO's on the Transformation Value Streams by 4 disciplines

1. Programme-management
2. Value-management
3. Delivery Support
4. Change management.

This role will make sure accurate and timely insight is available for all relevant audiences, including the Business Leadership Team. This "helicopter view" that aggregates the full view of delivery progress and benefits realisation across Business is key to making sure that the transformation project delivery workstack is aligned and on track to achieve our commercial and strategic goals, and that appropriate action can be taken quickly where risks and gaps/shortfalls are identified.

What you'll be doing

  • Define the PMO catalogue of services and roadmap.

  • Leads a team responsible for ensuring that there a coherent end-to-end reporting methodology underpinned by tooling and data. Establishes robust and consistent analysis and reporting processes across Business, integrating performance reporting practices and ensuring appropriate application. Identifies, implements and reviews large-scale opportunities for the standardisation, simplification and efficiency of analysis and reporting processes. Leads on executive reporting up to the CEO, CFO and Group CTO, including the monthly ELT review.

  • Responsible for designing, building, implementing and maintaining a strategic tooling suite, which enables the automation of key processes.

  • Develops a comprehensive assurance programme that ensures that the transformation portfolio is well run and managed (using KPIs and assessments), adopting industry best practice approaches that should lead to success delivery outcomes.

  • Identifies lessons learnt and key themes across the portfolio that can benefit other programmes.

  • Tracks cost and benefits realisation across the portfolio - understanding baselined and any changes. Owns Businesses SIMPLIFY business case.

  • Runs the Change Control process, which formally approves changes to scope, milestones, costs and benefits.

  • Proactively engages Networks and Digital to ensure that programmes have access to the resources they need to support transformation.

  • Builds a strategic network across the function, inputting to management information and decision making, communicating reports and variances, and working closely with business managers to ensure integration and alignment - includes building relationships and having timely, honest conversations with programme team both in transformation delivery and more widely across Business, to understand and assess the risk profile for all delivery work.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for business improvement that align to and help the business unit achieve strategy and plans.

    Commercial acumen - understanding of the levers that drive commercial and financial performance, and what we need to dial up and dial down to maximise commercial performance.

  • Delivery planinng - the ability to develop a delivery planning approach to ensure the allocation of suitable resource to the delivery of large scale transformation programmes.

  • Stakeholder management - works with key stakeholders to embed key performance tracking and assurance processes.

  • Data management and reporting - provide reporting expertise, able to effectively store and manage data across a complex suite of data management systems and create insightful reporting using a variety of reporting tools.
