You will have a good knowledge of communications, how to connect with press and influencers and how to organically maximise an organisation's profile. You will have a entrepreneurial proactive approach, seeking to maximise engagement in all the Guildhall does. You'll be creative, interested in finding innovative ways to connect with the public and in finding creative solutions to problems. You will know how to manage budgets, and line manage staff.

Gloucester's home of live music and dance, Gloucester Guildhall has been setting the rhythm of the city's cultural heartbeat since 1987. Gloucester Guildhall is a mixed-artform venue in the centre of Gloucester, featuring a vibrant programme of live music, performance forms and film. The venue's heritage as a gathering place goes back to 1892, where first Gloucester's guilds of craftspeople and the city corporation gathered, as well as ordinary folk who gathered for tea dances in the ballroom each weekend. By the 1980s the dances had become so popular that they expanded into a whole programme of live music, and in 1987 it was reborn as an arts centre, welcoming everyone in, every day, to participate in music and culture. In 2023, Gloucester Guildhall became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, and its programme has expanded to include some of the UK's most innovative touring artists, incubation of homegrown talent, and with more opportunities for young people and community engagement than ever before. In 2025 Gloucester Guildhall will begin a process of rebranding, with a new visual identity being applied across all its channels and the launch of a new website. The programme will feature major events like Underground Festival, Live at Llantony, and Moomin 80, where the venue is a key artistic partner. For Moomin 80 an artist commission is being created alongside several local partner organisations and creatives, and will culminate in an exciting installation in Gloucester's historic docks as well as a programme of events across June 2025. Find out more about the Guildhall here. Where you'll be working We have a flexible working environment, though you'll mainly be working from Gloucester Guildhall.
