With the implementation of ward based dispensaries for all wards and a pre-admission drug history service, you will assist the team in further developing the continued expansion of the service and implementing initiatives in line with the Carter review.

You will gain experience in counselling patients, conducting audits and ensuring optimal medicines management across the site., There is a need for close coordination with the wider specialist MDT to pre plan medicines required for our patients at ward level through the implementation of an efficient medicines management system. This will include the assessment of patient's own drugs, conducting medicines reconciliation, counselling patients about their medicines and coordinating the supply of discharge medication.

The role will also involve the training and supervision of junior team members and dispensary based responsibilities.
