Full Job Description

Coordinate and provide skilled nursing care to patients, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct

Participate in the continued development of nursing, including the supervision, teaching and development of junior nurses and support staff

Act as an advocate for patients

To plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for an allocated patient group, in consideration of individual need, using prioritisation and delegation skills.

To assist the Lodge Manager in managing and developing the Lodge.

To work collaboratively within a Multidisciplinary Team, internal and external to the organisation, to facilitate seamless care delivery for all Trust patients.

To provide leadership to junior staff and manage the Lodge in the absence of the Lodge Manager

To support the Lodge Manager in their role and participate in managing the Lodge, staff and resources, to maintain standards within the clinical governance agenda.

To represent the Lodge Manager at relevant meetings and forums.

To deputise for the Lodge Manager when required and act as a role model and leader to other junior staff.

Our team is multi-disciplinary and comprises of medics, nurses, health care support workers, psychologists, therapists, teachers, admin and support services who are committed to continued development and providing high quality care for young people and families.

We offer assessment, collaborative care and treatment to help young people experiencing mental health difficulties including; low mood, anxiety, psychosis, eating difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, young people who pose a risk to themselves, or where there is diagnostic uncertainty.

The Inpatient Lodges at the Becton Centre comprise of Sapphire, Emerald and Ruby Lodge.

Emerald Lodge cares for young people aged 8-13 who are experiencing mental health, emotional and behavioural difficulties and and is part of the national children's network., At Sheffield Children's, our purpose is clear: to provide healthier futures for children and young people.
