Full Job Description

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, pro-active and patient focused clinical pharmacy service to the community mental health team. Key components of the role include: Clinical review of prescriptions and patient-orientated medication reviews Provision of specialist pharmaceutical advice to multi-disciplinary teams Involvement of patients in decisions about their medicines to support adherence and improve outcomes Potential to utilise non-medical prescribing skills within the role outline Opportunity to influence the development of services to improve patient care through service redesign Participation in clinical audit and service evaluation Supervision of junior pharmacy staff Contribution to the training and development of junior pharmacy team members and other members of the multi-disciplinary team Participation in the clinical supervision programme Input to the development of policies and procedures and treatment guidelines Contribute to initiatives to improve medicines safety You will have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist with a keen interest and previous experience in mental health?, It is also desirable, however not essential that you have a postgraduate pharmacy qualification or equivalent experience, and post registration experience in mental health. An great opportunity has arisen due to maternity leave. We have an exciting vacancy for a senior clinical pharmacist post in The Community Mental Health Team located at The Mount in Accrington. This is a well established MH team within the Pennine Locality. The team is based on 'safety by design' to ensure that it can provide high quality care. The ethos of the team is to provide therapeutic care which is empowering, person-centred and needs led, and focuses on promoting recovery and independence. We are looking to recruit an experienced mental health pharmacist to join our friendly, innovative and supportive clinical pharmacy team on a fixed term 12 month contract., Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
