Join our dynamic team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust as a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, where you'll play a vital role in supporting children and adolescents with mental health challenges., As part of the CAMHS Early Intervention service, you'll provide expert mental health support through a single point of access, helping young people and families at a critical stage. Our focus is on early intervention, offering assessments and therapeutic interventions for low to moderate mental health difficulties before they require specialist CAMHS services., What's In It for You?

  • Your Role:
  • Deliver comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and adolescents experiencing mental health difficulties.
  • Work across our Early Intervention Services to support families and signpost them to additional resources when needed.
  • Build strong partnerships with external organisations such as schools, GPs, and social care, ensuring young people get the right support.
  • Play an active part in service development, ensuring our interventions meet national standards and local performance targets.

    A qualification in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or clinical/counselling psychology, along with current registration.
  • Experience in child and adolescent mental health services.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop meaningful therapeutic relationships with young people.
  • Enthusiasm, motivation, and a commitment to providing high-quality care for young people with complex needs.
