Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the GM Universities Student Mental Health Service for two substantive posts as a Senior Mental Health Nurse /Senior Mental Health Practitioner: one at full time and one at around 3 days/week. The service receives referrals from the five Greater Manchester Universities counselling and wellbeing services. The aim of the service is to provide proactive mental health assessment, support and interventions from experienced Mental Health professionals to students to enable them to fulfil their university ambitions and experience. Students with pre-existing mental health problems or those whose mental health problems emerge whilst at university will be supported to succeed and to manage their mental health.,

  • To carry a protected complex caseload
  • Offer clinical & line management supervision
  • Ensure standards are met and there is a focus on quality care delivery.
  • To participate in the bronze on call/site rota
  • Contribute to the activity of the management team
  • We work in partnership with the region's five Universities (University of Bolton, University of Salford, University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University and the Royal Northern College of Music). This service is supported by the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership. Our services will be accessed via a referral from the existing universities' counselling services. It is based at the University of Manchester, with satellite clinics at the University of Bolton and University of Salford.
