Full Job Description

Purpose of role: To ensure clinical care is delivered and available to residents, and that care workers are safely and appropriately overseen and supported during shift for clinical matters. Specific Responsibilities: To be directly responsible to the General Manager To work closely with the GP and other members of the wider multiple disciplinary team To provide care to a high standard in the following: 1. End of life care 2. Continence assessments 3. Catheter care 4. Diabetes management 5. Wound care 6. Assessment of unwell residents 7. Clinical Observations 8. Venepuncture 9. Confirmation of death 10. Pressure area assessment and care 11. Swallowing assessments (This list is not exhaustive and may be adapted depending on the needs of residents in the home). To deliver training and support to care staff in delegated tasks as per general manager guidance To participate in the on-call rota shared with other Nurses/Support Team Managers/management To maintain up to date evidence based
practice To attend regular clinical supervisions To maintaining good team relationships with all staff members throughout the home To role model behaviours, a sound work ethic and Ardale ethos at all times to junior staff, residents and visitors Accountabilities: Positive management feedback Care staff are well supported and trained Care delivery and clinical issues are handled and delivered in an exemplary manner Resident care, welfare and safety is embedded as the most important aspect of our operation Positive resident and family feedback General Responsibilities: To keep accurate and clear documentation in line with sector specific and legal requirements. To participate in audits as required. To keep abreast of best current approved practice in the profession To attend all mandatory and developmental training courses relevant to the post and as agreed with the line manager. To work in accordance and at all times with all relevant legislation e.g. CQC standards, Mental Capacity
Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Care Standards Act 2000, Health and Social Care Act 2008, Care Act 2014 and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SoVA) etc. To work in accordance with the NMC code of professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates. To take an active role in own personal and professional development and identify any development needs with the support of your line manager To act in line with Health and Safety at Work legislation and requirements and in line with Ardales approach to Health and Safety at all times. To adhere to all aspects of security and ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents, staff and visitors at all times. At all times to: ensure high levels of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive material and information, to respect the dignity and confidentiality of our service users, and to adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998.
