Full Job Description

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Oxfordshire LD Team as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist on a part time fixed term contract or secondment. There are two bases to choose from in Banbury and Oxford.The successful applicant will provide assessment and develop bespoke interventions for a caseload of service users with a learning disability with complex needs, using evidence based / client centred approaches and delivered in accordance with HCPC and College of Occupational Therapy (COT) requirements.

You will be joining one of two friendly multi-disciplinary Oxfordshire teams who are committed to ensuring that the health needs of individuals with a learning disability are equitably met.

Oxford Health has a strong Occupational Therapy leadership team who regularly offer training and OT away days. The LD OT teammeet regularly to offer peer support, CPD opportunities and training.

You will receive regular individual supervision, training and support within this role to help transfer your skills and develop competencies in this specialist field.

Main duties of the job

Manage a caseload of service users with complex needs, using evidence based / client centred approaches.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

Play an active role in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services.

Provide leadership for junior staff.

You will work as an Occupational Therapist within the Learning Disability multidisciplinary team contributing to the delivery of care pathways for Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Mental health, Epilepsy, Dementia and Complex health. The role will involve carrying out Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment as well as contributing to service developments and supervisory roles within the team.
