Senior Occupational Therapist

If so, this could be the job for you!, The CAATT service is based at the 'front door' of hospitals across ABUHB and provides a rapid response to people (adults) presenting with conditions that have impacted their ability to live in their usual manner. The team undertake assessments and interventions in the hospital emergency department and medical admissions units with the primary aim being to consider and facilitate home in the first instance and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. To support this further assessments or interventions in patients homes may also be required.

When admission is necessary CAATT promotes timely discharges, reduced lengths of stay and reduced readmission rates through early initiation of therapy interventions and guiding the person to the right place to address their ongoing needs.

The post holder will be an Occupational Therapists, supervised and mentored by Highly specialist Occupational therapist to provide this specialist professional service. However, they will also work in an interdisciplinary / blurred boundary manner with competencies covering the professions of Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy to provide holistic and prudent therapy interventions.

We are looking for compassionate and motivated practitioners with a passion for person centred care to join our multidisciplinary Community Admissions Avoidance Therapy Team (CAATT) working in the Medical Admissions Unit in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr.
