Full Job Description

The role holder will be responsible for leading operational resilience, business continuity and crisis management for Bupa's Provision Services and Support Functions, to ensure our businesses are able to withstand disruptions and continue functioning in the face unforeseen events or crisis. You'll help us make health happen through:

  • Provide support and subject matter expertise in the shaping of the Operational Resilience strategy across UK Provision & Functions.
  • Lead the embedding and maintenance of the relevant Enterprise Policies, standards and procedures across UK Provisions & Supporting Functions, ensuring the appropriate operational oversight and governance structure are in place.
  • Take responsibilities for overseeing the ongoing operation of the BCM and OR framework and adherence to the relevant policies and standards, including periodic first-line control assurance assessments, to ensure that the business remains within the risk appetite.
  • Work closely with the business to identify its Important Business Services (IBS), ensuring that the IBS's, associated mapping and processes remain current and impact tolerances and recovery plan are regularly reviewed.
  • Ensure operational resilience risks are identified and reported and working with wider business stakeholders develop the necessary plans to address these risks.
  • Oversee the BC & OR testing schedule, ensuring a range of scenarios to test arrangements and recovery capabilities. Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the schedule is delivered, facilitating and reporting on exercises as required.
  • Responsible for design and delivery of a training and awareness programme, working in collaboration with the Insurance team.
  • Own and manage the operational governance which oversees the operational resilience performance of BGIUK's businesses and functions

    Experience in business continuity and/or operational resilience
  • Demonstrable expertise in the principles and good practices of Operational Resilience Planning
  • Business Continuity Professional - Industry qualifications are desirable (e.g. - AMBCI/MBCI/DBCI)
  • Experience and/or knowledge of ISO 22301 standard
  • Strong experience of designing and embedding operational resilience frameworks and strategies
  • Excellent proactive stakeholder management skills
  • Strong understanding of data and the role it can play in supporting the function
