This will involve data entry, visual acuity perform imaging along with the general personal care and support of the patient. You will have responsibility for preparing our patients and undertaking their investigations, performing a range of basic imaging tests and procedures as well as providing the reports and baseline evaluations for review by other clinical staff.
After the necessary training and induction, you should be able to prioritize and plan your own workload, and have the ability to work independently as well as working closely with other members of the team.
You would be required to carry out a full range of duties and shifts ensuring the efficient and effective clinical care of patients attending for outpatient treatment in the main outpatients department at the Bristol Eye Hospital, at South Bristol NHS Community Hospital, at Weston Super-Mare General Hospital, and Mobile Treatment Unit in Cribbs Causeway.
The Successful applicant will be expected to be flexible in running the outreach sites to ensure the clinic will smoothly and will work closely with the nurse practitioner on site together with the other Multidisciplinary team.

An ability to understand and undertake all clinical duties carried out by all ophthalmic technician staff-
- Assist with intravitreal injections
- Pachymetry
- OCT
- Trouble shooting at different outreach sites
- Additional imaging techniques as appropriate to individual development/ service requirement
- IT Problem Solving
- Tonopen/ I care
Have an understanding of the latest ophthalmic clinical care
