There is a legal requirement to make sure records are kept accurately, are maintained and achieved in accordance to the data protection act 1998 and the trust information governance guidelines/policies. The role also requires the
post holder to be confident and approachable to assist with training other staff to use the ophthalmic equipment if required. You would also be required to take care of the equipment and report faults and issues to the relevant companies who supply the equipment and to the Lead for Ophthalmic Imaging and Ophthalmic Photographer when appropriate.

Looking for a friendly, confident self-motivated individual who works well on their own as well as part of a team to produce a high standard of accurate and detailed imaging for clinicians to use for diagnostic and monitoring purposes. During busy clinics the main part of the role is to perform Optical Coherence Tomography of the maculae and discs as well as specified areas of the retina and to use different fundus cameras to document eye pathologies required for baseline and monitoring measures. Corneal clinics require use of corneal topography imaging and corneal microscopy for endothelial cell counts.
