Full Job Description

The County Council is delivering an ambitious Digital Strategy which is making a real difference to the delivery of public services across Lancashire. We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle DBA to provide lead technical expertise in a specialist technical area, predominantly Oracle OCI Cloud on the Databases team. Working in a busy, high pressured and diverse environment you will be able to effectively understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions using the latest database technologies. You can expect to be involved in a number of projects and work-streams at any time, working in collaboration with other specialist disciplines and key partners - these can vary in both scale and nature, making the workload extremely interesting. We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to contribute to the support and continuing development of the OCI platform. You will have detailed knowledge of managing, monitoring and maintaining databases within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, patching and upgrades as well as backup and recovery, cloning and maximum availability. Over and above you will have experience of

  • Cloud Administration including developing, testing and implementing backup and recovery plans including high availability across sites
  • Implementing robust OCI database security measures
  • Troubleshooting database-related issues in OCI, This role is for candidates who have proven experience as an Oracle DBA, with expertise both on-premises and OCI, effective communication and collaboration skills as well as experience in OCI database security, performance tuning and monitoring
