Matalan's Marketing team is undergoing an exciting transformation and we're on the hunt for a social media star to join our dynamic Organic Social Media Team. Know your girl maths from your girl dinners? Your OOTDs to your POVs? Happy to grab a mini mic and be featured on TikTok? You'll be stepping into your brand new era as our new Senior Social Media Executive. Working with the Organic Social Media Manager and the Social Media Executive, you'll be bringing your skills and knowledge to enhance our presence across channels and will also be bursting with ideas to help us stand out from the busy social crowd. You'll know what makes the Matalan customer tick, what's hot and what's not and will have a huge passion for all social platforms. No two weeks will be the same - this is a super exciting opportunity and we're looking for a real people's person with great initiative to join us. This role sits within our PR & Social Team.,

  • A strong understanding of social trends - you don't need to be shown the new TikTok trends, you've already seen them on your fyp.
  • Working with the Social Media Exec on day-to-day management of social accounts including managing the social media calendar.
  • Develop social strategies for campaigns for our key calendar dates to drive reach, awareness and engagement.
  • Confident analysing social data, creating weekly/monthly reports on KPIs to measure success.
  • Work closely with the Organic Social Media Manager and deputise when required.
  • Confident both in front of and behind the camera.
  • Capturing and editing innovative and creative social content - be that in store, in the office or on set.
  • Briefing Production and Design teams to create engaging, sharable content across all channels to tie in with the trading calendar, which will create a buzz around new products and launches.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness.
  • Regularly undertaking competitor analysis and reporting key trends back to the wider team.
  • Work closely with the Customer Care team to handle any customer queries.
  • Manage content and internal influencers as part of our colleague advocacy app; MataFam.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a cohesive social media identity.
  • Create and maintain great relationships with our regional teams in store, including travelling to stores when required for events and shoots.
  • Supporting the PR Team on large scale events such as seasonal launches and trips, which may require working some early mornings/late evenings/weekends.
  • Monthly trips required to our satellite London PR & Social office.
  • Working collaboratively with our external agencies.
  • Collaborate with the paid social team on social strategies and content.

    At least 3 years' experience in a social media role
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms and you'll be all over the latest trends
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
  • Ability to gasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Multitasking and analytical skills
  • BS degree in Marketing, New media or relevant field
  • A driver's license is desirable
