Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Senior Paediatric Audiologisit to join the Paediatric Audiology Department at Princess Gate, Hamilton Senior Paediatric Audiologisit will contribute towards the provision of a comprehensive Audiology Service. The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to service development and maintains professional standards
  • Assist the Chief Audiologist in the daily clinical work of the department
  • Provide clinical assessments and hearing aid programming
  • Use complex computer software and specific specialised hardware.
  • The Senior Paediatric Audiologisit is responsible for managing own workload and the supervision of Assistant Audiologists. The post will involve comprehensive rehabilitative care, complex diagnostic assessments of hearing, and care for all adult hearing aid users, children of all ages, and their carers/relatives. The post holder must demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with other professionals and service users, including patients, carers and relatives The senior Paediatric Audiologisit has a lead role in one or more of the specialist areas of Audiology Service provision., From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings. NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.

  • Registered Audiologist with RCCP (Registration Council of Clinical Physiologists) Initial qualification may be BAAT Parts I and II or BSc Hons Audiology or MSc Audiology.
  • Member of of Audiology.
  • The post holder will be knowledgeable and up to date in professional issues, CPD requirements.
  • Will be IT literate and familiar with Word, Practice Navigator.
  • Will have developed communication and negotiating skills.
  • You will be expected to study to higher levels where appropriate, or to undertake study/training that will assist you in providing a high standard of care in the profession and to maintain a professional CPO portfolio., Clinical experience, theoretical and practical in both Adult and Paediatric Services.
  • Good working knowledge of Auditbase, Care experienced applicants are people who live/have lived with foster parents/kinship carers or who live/have lived in a residential children's setting/secure unit.
