Senior People, Health & Safety Officer

The BTO are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Officer to work as a member of the People Team, carrying out work and supporting the work of the Head of People and OD, and Senior People and Projects Officer, including:

• Health, Safety, and Wellbeing You will have responsibility for the maintenance, development, and implementation of all health and safety and wellbeing policies, procedures, and processes. This encompasses the role of safeguarding deputy to BTO's safeguarding leads.


• Administration You will lead the recruitment of Fieldworkers and will assist with various aspects of other employment, including writing contracts, and right-to-work checks, and be a point of contact for internal employee queries.


• Project support By joining a charity with lots of opportunities for improving and developing systems and processes, you will work on a range of projects requiring autonomy, initiative, and problem-solving.
  
  Experience, knowledge, and skills in health and safety in the workplace; including, a NEBOSH qualification, is essential to this role.


This position is based at our HQ in Thetford, Norfolk, although you will be able to work from home part of the time on a hybrid working regime and flexible start and finish times can also be accommodated to ensure a work-life balance.
